How Carlo Global handles the personal data of customers, suppliers and website visitors.
1. Who we are
Carlo Global is the trade name of Carlo de Roo van Alderwerelt, a sole trader registered in Belgium under enterprise number 1043.063.665 and established at Vlasvenstraat 11, 3640 Kinrooi, Belgium. Carlo Global trades internationally in sweets and food. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. 2. Which data we collect
We only collect the data we need to respond to you and to do business with you:
- Contact details you give us: your name, company, email address, phone number and the content of your message, for example through the contact form, by email or by phone.
- Business details needed for a trade: delivery addresses, invoicing details, VAT numbers, and the names of the people we deal with at your company.
- Technical data from the website: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, date and time) for security purposes. We do not use analytics cookies or tracking pixels.
3. Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation (performance of a contract, or steps prior to entering into one).
- To carry out orders, shipments, certification and invoicing (performance of a contract, and legal obligations such as accounting and customs rules).
- To keep in touch with existing business contacts about products and markets that are relevant to them (our legitimate interest as a trading company; you can object at any time).
- To secure the website and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only where needed to do our work: with manufacturers and suppliers from whom we source for you, with carriers and forwarders who handle shipments, with certification bodies where a shipment requires it, with our accountant and bank, and with Hostinger, which hosts our website and email. Each of them may only use the data for the task we give them. Where a party is located outside the European Economic Area, we rely on an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to business: up to 2 years after our last contact.
- Customer and supplier records: for the duration of the relationship and up to 7 years afterwards, as required by Belgian accounting and tax law.
- Server logs: up to 12 months.
6. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise these rights, email info@carloglobal.eu. We answer within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).
7. Cookies
This website sets no cookies. Fonts, images and videos are served from our own hosting, so no third party is contacted when you simply read the site. The contact form uses a bot check by Cloudflare, which loads only inside the form and processes your browser's technical data for the purpose of that check.
8. Security
We protect data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including access restrictions, encrypted connections and regular backups.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the current version.
